On Demand Webinar - The Automation Gap - Its Impact on the Data Center and the Cloud
The 451 Group Recorded: May 21, 2009
Length: 1 Hour
Presenters:

With all of the automated processes and tools for building, releasing, monitoring, and optimizing web applications, there is still an automation gap that exists. When a web app is handed off from Development to IT Operations, too many times it falls through the cracks and creates miscommunication. In other instances, IT turns to a collection of homegrown scripts to roll out the apps and set up the environments. This is happening week in and week out on physical servers, in virtual images and will greatly limit the adoption of enterprise cloud computing.

In this webinar, Rachel Chalmers from the 451 Group will give an overview of the big picture and the current state of tools and infrastructure for automating data center processes. The gap that exists will be exposed and explored. Daniel Nelson from Phurnace Software will then present a solution for filling the gap – deployment automation that delivers J2EE applications and sets all of the parameters in the web app server container -- therefore reducing errors, increasing the speed of application deployment and enabling the on-ramping of apps to the Cloud.
