The Scenario:

When running Phurnace from a Windows client to install on a Unix server, remote application installation is failing with the following error:

com.ibm.websphere.management.exception.AdminException: ADMA0043E: /was6.0/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/default/config/temp/upload24352345myEar.ear does not exist for installation.

The Solution:

This is a documented flaw in WebSphere 6.0 when attempting to install from a Windows client to a Unix server. You'll notice the last segment of the directory listed is a backslash and not a forward slash.

To fix this issue update your client installation to one of the versions listed in the followng IBM Knowledge _base_ article:
